Predanons Nomu S10 Pro: more protection, more memory

The Chinese company Nomu is preparing for the announcement of the smartphone Nomu S10 Pro. To tease their fans before the official announcement of the device, Nomu decided to tell what the novelty is better than last year's S10. One of the main improvements to guess is simple - increased volumes of RAM and ROM. How much increased, the company does not yet say. In the original Nomu S10, recall, there were 2 GB and 16 GB, respectively. Another improvement is Android 7.0 Nougat "out of the box".

Finally, Nomu will strengthen the S10 Pro protection: the phone can be immersed to a depth of 2 m for up to 1 hour. The company believes that this is in accordance with the IP69 standard, although it also requires resistance to hot water. The start of sales of Nomu S10 Pro is scheduled for October. You can find out about it on the manufacturer's updated website.

Custom on Oreo Android allows you to activate Always On on Nexus 6

One of their supposed "chips" Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 called support for technology Always On Display. Confirmation of this information has already been seen several times in the code of Android 8.0 Oreo. However, the specialists went further. As reported by XDA, there was a working way to activate this function on the smartphone with AMOLED-display and custom AOSP-firmware. A successful experiment was put on Nexus 6, the official support of which has already been discontinued. Used firmware SiXROM, the author of which made some changes to the lines of code, after which a switch appeared in the System UI.

The option works on the same principle as that of other manufacturers: the clock on the locked display is displayed; the incoming notification is displayed for a few seconds, then it is minimized to the icon under the clock. This information was already picked up by the developers of XDA. Probably, many of them adapt this method Always On to their assemblies. By the way, the current list of firmware is here . We'll see what Always On looks like in the new "pixels".

Google is replacing faulty Nexus 6P devices with free Pixel XL

Google recently began selling out Pixel and Pixel XL to clear the way for their successors, the announcement of which is scheduled for early October. Part of the stock of the manufacturer gives away free of charge. Messages about this appeared on Reddit. True, this is only possible if there is a faulty Nexus 6P (there are a certain number of complaints about the battery that lead to spontaneous power failure). According to the source, some users in the US and Canada have managed to replace the smartphone they bought on the Google Play Store (strictly there) with a newer model, while the UK and Australia still give out the Nexus 6P. Sometimes in the exchange are offered even those devices for which the warranty period has expired.

A single "algorithm", by which the exchange is not revealed - users get different editions of the smartphone, but the owners of Nexus 6P at 64 GB are more likely to get Pixel XL 128 GB. The main condition - the device must be purchased in the store Google Play. Recall, Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 will be presented on October 4. By that time, Google is planning to sell off existing stocks.

iPhone 8 and 8 Plus: battery capacity is lower than the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus

Apple traditionally does not give much technical information on its novelties, focusing on the practical application of certain elements. Therefore, details such as the frequency of the processor, the amount of RAM or the capacity of the battery have to be learned from third-party sources. Chinese regulator TENAA, for example, disclosed information about the battery iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus ( details). So, the younger version received a power supply for 1821 mAh (7% less than the battery for 1960 mAh from the iPhone 7), while the older one was equipped with a battery with a capacity of 2765 mAh (downgrade by 8% compared to the iPhone 7 Plus).

However, thanks to the new 10-nm chipset and developments in the field of software, the claimed battery life remained the same as that of its predecessors. Also, TENAA showed the maximum frequency of the processor (2.4 GHz) and confirmed the amount of RAM - 2 and 3 GB, respectively. iPhone X has not yet been found in the database, but rumors say that it is equipped with 3 GB of RAM and a battery for 2700 mAh.

HTC is preparing an Android 8.0 Oreo version of U11 Life A1

HTC is one of Google's key partners. The companies cooperate so closely that even information appeared about the imminent merger, but so far there is no information on this. Meanwhile, a well-known source of leakage on HTC @LlabTooFeR reported on a new project of the Taiwanese company. This is a special version of the yet unannounced U11 Life (Ocean Life project), which will take place on the Android One program (an inexpensive analog of Nexus).

It is reported that the device "out of the box" will get Android 8.0 Oreo and will lose most branded applications HTC, but not Zoe, HTC Camera, Edge Sense and USonic. Information about the existence of the device confirmed and Evan Blass (Evan Blass), as well as shared a new device (the standard version with Sense UI 9 is depicted). Unfortunately, the date of the announcement and other details are not yet known. Earlier, the device was credited with a 5.2 "Full HD display, Snapdragon 630 chipset, 16-megapixel main and 16-megapixel front camera, 32GB internal storage.

TechLoy.Com is Shutting Down

Loy Explain Why
Well, what can I say…OK, I’m not shutting TechLoy down :-p At least not yet, but I’m using this medium to announce that we’re moving the 9-year old technology blog to Medium — arguably the coolest publishing platform right now.

Why the move? Simple: We’re fed up with the issues around hosting, payments and security threats. We are bloggers and just want to focus on writing daily about the stories that matter and the startups that make things happen, rather than handle server and security issues on a daily basis.Of course, we understand the consequences of making this move from WordPress and are aware of the limitations of Medium at this time.

Perhaps the biggest consequence is the fact that we may lose all of our older posts, links, etc. as a result of the migration to Medium. Plus, we could potentially be losing advertising revenues since Medium doesn’t support banner ads, etc.

But the good news is that we would be saving server and security fees ($223/month, approx. N90,000/month) as well as avoid the associated payment hassles that come in between Nigerian banks and our foreign hosting and security partners.

Thanks to these savings, we could hire more writers and cover more and more stories and startups. And talking about coverage, we’re changing our style of telling technology stories, startups and apps that shape our digital lives. We’re also changing the way brands communicate with their audiences through content that incite deeper conversations around technology.

While this move might seem too early, it only underscores the fact that we’re early adopters of evolving technology and demonstrates our foward-thinking approach as an industry leading publication.I’m hoping that you’ll join us in this phase of our journey to become one of the leading tech pubs in Africa.

Apple Watch Series 3 - independent watch with LTE and Apple Music

Apple introduced a new generation of watches Apple Watch, which, according to the manufacturer, are now the best-selling watches in the world (for a year managed to circumvent Rolex). The main feature of the new generation of watches is the support for LTE networks, which makes Apple Watch even more independent of the iPhone, allowing not only to read activity, sleep, distance while running or swimming, but also listen to music online via Apple Music, make and receive calls and enjoy online services Siri without the participation of a smartphone. The key advantages of the last generation of the gadget are preserved, including design, dimensions and a set of wireless connections that have become even faster, more modern.

Apple Watch Series 3

At the heart of the new clock is the dual-core S3 chipset, whose claimed performance is 70% higher than its predecessor. The auxiliary chip for wireless connection W2 increases the speed of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections by 85, and power consumption reduces by 50%. As a software basis, the watchOS 4 platform with a set of useful applications such as Heart Rate App (fixes heart rate changes, notifies when a certain threshold is passed, etc.), recycled by Apple Music and Workout App. Soon, the GymKit package will be available for interaction with simulators.

The novelty will go on sale at a price of $ 329 (without LTE) and $ 399 (with LTE). The pre-order will open on September 15, and sales will begin on September 22. The good news is that the cost of the first generation Apple Watch has fallen to $ 249. The New Apple Watch Series 3 is available in 4 colors: Black, White, Gray and Pink. Also, the Nike + edition will be available with the same price tag. Its special feature is a special strap. We Predict AFRICAN sales should begin on Late September or Early October.

Apple explained the problem with Face ID on the presentation of the iPhone X

On the Web continue to discuss the feal that happened with Craig Federigi (Craig Federighi) during the presentation of Face ID recognition system. Recall, his test sample refused to unblock after several attempts, after which his (device) had to be replaced by another, which, fortunately, was more "communicative". The explanation was quick: the smartphone was restarted before the presentation, and the reboot requires entering a password. But Apple officials explained the embarrassment differently. According to the interlocutor from the camp of the company, from Cupertino, the sample was taken by other people who did not suspect that Face ID was trying to count their face and unlock the phone.

After two unsuccessful attempts (for Touch ID, by the way, there were five of them), the security system asked for a password to confirm the identity. In this way, Face ID worked exactly as it should, and there should not be any problems with it. There should be no problems with working in the dark infrared sensors), when the owner wears a hat or glasses (neural networks). As will be in practice, we learn from November 3. It is this day that will become the date of appearance of the premium iPhone X on sale.

You Can Now Add A Working 3.5mm Headphone Jack To Your iPhone 7

Do you remember the world traveller guy (Scotty Allen) who came up with the daring idea of picking up an iPhone 6s from spare parts bought on the market in China for less than half the price of a new one? Well, he’s back with another DIY. He recently completed his new project. He was able to equip the iPhone 7 with a 3.5 mm working connector. Now he can use any headphones with his iPhone without any adapter. Those who don’t wanna pay $159 for AirPods or cannot be bothered to insert their headphones into an adapter every time they listen to music needn’t drill a hole in their iPhone.

iPhone 7 with 3.5mm headphone jack
The iPhone enthusiast and world traveller Scotty Allen has taken upon himself to add a working 3.5mm headphone jack to his iP. Let's see how he did it. Scotty Allen was impressed by the camera's capabilities. The lack of a 3.5 mm jack greatly upset him, so he just decided to add it. He did it, but it was not at all easy.

Also Read: New Apple TV will receive a chip A10X Fusion and 3 GB RAM.

The project took 4 months. Thousands of dollars were spent on the realization of the dream. This money was paid not only for the work and rent of expensive equipment. They bought three iPhone 7 and a huge number of adapters. In the costs came out and other parts that Scotty broke, embodying his idea in life. In the end, the plan was successful. I had to create my own board with a digital-to-analog converter and a 3.5 mm connector, to make a hole in the case of iPhone 7 and make it work. Few people are ready to repeat this at home.
Note Be very sure You read this article to the End Including our final words on this You will Enjoy it.

In Scotty’s own words:

I’ve spent the past four months in Shenzhen, China, modifying an iPhone 7 to add a fully functional headphone jack. To the best of my knowledge, this is the first time anyone has done anything like this.
In April, I decided to finally upgrade my iPhone 6s to an iPhone7 to get better camera quality for the videos I was shooting when I was out on adventures in the industrial markets and manufacturing world. But I was super annoyed that it doesn’t have a headphone jack! I already have headphones I really liked, and I didn’t like the idea of having to keep track of an adapter just to use them.

So I figured I’d add my own – after all, how hard could it be?

It turns out, really really hard. But possible.

I went through a ton of iterations and debugging to get this to work. The hardest parts were the electrical design and getting everything to fit inside the phone. Specifically, because I was using the logic from an Apple headphone adapter and a headphone jack from an iPhone 5, I had to find space to put them without breaking anything else. I feel like I got extremely lucky about finding space inside the phone. There was inexplicably a lot of extra room in the lower left hand corner, right where I wanted to put the headphone jack.

And because I was connecting the headphone adapter to the lightning jack, I needed to figure out how to make the lightning jack still work for things like charging and syncing to a computer. I ended up designing lots of circuit boards that were more complex than anything I’ve ever done. I had three iterations of PCB designs manufactured, and 4 different flexible PCB designs.

I also ended up having to buy lots, and lots, and lots of spare parts. I went through 3 complete iPhone 7s, a handful of screens, and countless internal components (mostly bottom cable assemblies and taptic engines).

And I had to buy some new tools. I got a fancy binocular microscope for tiny soldering work (including hand soldering my own BGAs), and had to seriously level up my soldering equipment.

The nitty gritty

I’m pretty proud of the final implementation. I took apart an Apple lightning to headphone adapter, put that inside the phone, and hooked it up by man in the middling the lightning jack with a flexible PCB. The PCB has a switching chip that switches between connecting the headphone adapter to the phone by default, and then disconnecting it and connecting the lightning jack when something is plugged into it.
I have a couple other timer chips that briefly disconnect everything from the phone when something is connected/disconnected to improve the reliability of the phone detecting when something is plugged/unplugged (otherwise it sometimes gets confused).

The final flexible PCB uses 5 mil/5mil traces and 0.5mm pitch BGAs. Which is pretty darn tiny. I managed to hand solder these under the microscope, and it turned out to be much easier than I expected, despite being my first time really doing any surface mount design or soldering. If surface mount scares you, buy a microscope! It’s a total game changer.

You can get the kicad files and gerbers here: github.com/strangeparts/niubi-headphones

The Flexible circuit board design for adding a headphone jack to an iPhone 7 is specialy design of this project is free for everyone. You have Scotty Allen full permission to make modification and improvement however you like.

Here is a picture of the board on the bottom flex cable.

Scotty have used the internal circuit board from an official Apple headphone adapter. The circuit connects this board to the lightning jack on the bottom flex connector. When something is plugged into the lightning jack, the signal is switched from the headphone adapter to the lightning jack. There is a 1 megaohm resistor that pulls the shield of the lightning connector to 3v. This is shorted to ground when a connector is plugged into the headphone jack. This is how the switching chip senses that something was plugged in. Whenever something is plugged or unplugged, one of the two timers fires, temporarily disabling the switching chip for 100ms (I think), which appears to be necessary for the phone to sense that something has been plugged in.

This design is open source under an MIT license, and you’re very welcome to modify and improve on this design, and even manufacture it yourself. If you do, I’d love to hear about it.
This isn’t just about a headphone jack though – I think this design can be adapted to put other lightning based adapters inside an iPhone, while still allowing the lightning jack to function. It’s mostly just a matter of finding room inside the phone!

Final Words

It's super annoyed that it doesn’t have a headphone jack. We later joined Scotty Allen and few people who repeat this at home to add.a working 3.5 mm headphone jack to an iPhone 7. How hard could it be? It turns out, really really hard and scaring. Doing this really requires courage and skills, So we will advise not to try if You don't posses this Two.

There is this fear in You, of loosing Your expensive device even despite the good work-through from Scotty. But IF You are a DIY Freak type Who is ready to repeat this at home then You can GO ON BUT make sure you watch every single step in that video and You will be successful in adding 3.5 mm headphone jack to a 3.5 mm jack connector Non-supportive device.

We also Made Success Adding the Jack and it was so Awesome. Wish more enthusiasts engaged in DIY projects like Scotty but it’s understandable many don’t given the high price of Apple’s smartphone. I hope this website Grows Fast and DIY Guys at TechZuma inc will also Join the likes of Scotty Allen to become DIY Masters taking Expensive Risks.

Frameless Huawei Maimang 6 with four cameras appeared in the photo

The upcoming smartphone Huawei Maimang 6 Live link photos as now gone viral on Twitter. yet not officially submitted and confirmed by the manufacturer. The photos confirm the display almost to the entire front panel, two dual cameras and a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel. Huawei has already confirmed that the announcement of Maimang 6 will take place on the event on September 22. Outside of China, the smartphone can get the name Huawei G10.

Recall, a few days earlier the model was seen on the site of the Chinese center for the certification of telecommunications equipment TENAA. There it is listed with the marking RNE-AL00. The model received a display almost in the entire front panel with a modest aspect ratio of 18: 9 and minimal edges. The diagonal is 5.99 inches, resolution - Full HD + (2160 x 1080 pixels). The smartphone is equipped with two dual cameras. The main one consists of 16 and 2 Mp modules, and the front one is 13 and 2 Mp.

The smartphone is enclosed in a metal case with a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel. Hardware core was the company's eight-core processor Kirin 659, 4 GB of operative and 64 GB of internal flash memory with the ability to expand microSD cards up to 256 GB.

The battery has a capacity of 3240 mAh. Supports two SIM-cards, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b / g / n), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and GLONASS. The work is performed under the operating system Android 7.0 Nougat with the EMUI shell. The dimensions are 156.2 x 75.2 x 7.5 mm, and the weight is 164 grams.

Pre-order For the Virtual Reality Helmet of Dell Visor

The company Dell began taking pre-orders for their first head-mounted display. The Dell Visor helmet is based on the Windows Mixed Reality platform from Microsoft and was originally announced for the IFA 2017, which was held from September 1 to 6 in Berlin.

The helmet is equipped with two 2.89-inch LCD-displays with a resolution of 1440 x 1440 pixels, built-in sensor, providing tracking of movement with six degrees of freedom. It is interesting that the shield on the helmet can be thrown back and see what is happening around, without removing the entire design of the helmet.

Dell Visor is available for pre-order for $ 350. An optional set of wireless controllers will add another $ 100. Sales will start on October 17.

Huawei RNE-AL00 will receive four cameras and a screen of 18:9

Certification TENAA was a curious unannounced smartphone Huawei. The device with the RNE-AL00 index has two unusual features: a screen with an aspect ratio of 18: 9 and two dual cameras. The resolution of the 5.9 "display is 2160x1080 pixels, the rear cameras 16 Mp + 2 Mp, the frontal cameras 13 Mp + 2 Mp. Note that the dual cameras here are explicitly used only for blurring the background (as in Honor 6X), and not for improvement capture of light and refinement of colors, as in most models of Huawei, where there are color and black and white sensors of high resolution.

Huawei RNE-AL00

Other characteristics of the Huawei RNE-AL00 include 4 GB of operative and 64 GB of internal memory, a 3240 mAh battery, an eight-core chipset with a frequency of 2.36 GHz (most likely Kirin 659) and an Android 7.0 Nougat OS. The size of the smartphone will be 156.2x75.2x7.5 mm, weight - 164 g. Under what name will this smartphone come out, it is unknown. According to rumors, in China it can come out as Huawei Maimang 6. Whether the RNE-AL00 will be sold in other countries is unknown.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Full Review Specs and Price

Monday was the afternoon of Xiaomi. In Beijing, she presented not one, not two, but three top products. First, the company updated the conceptual full-screen smartphone Mix, it was called Mix 2, and secondly, Mi Note 3 was finally announced, but it was not what many expected, and thirdly, fans of powerful laptops for adequate price teased with the help of Mi Notebook Pro. Why is that? Because the probability of the appearance of this metal 15 "toys in the official retail we have extremely small . Here in this order about them and talk.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, as the name implies, just mimic. And on press images with minimal frames, he mimic in the cube. In reality, the framework is not so miserable, and many are upset, including me, but not very much. Because the live phone is still impressive. Of course, next to the Samsung Galaxy S8 + wah effect is not, but against the background of some HTC U11, the latest Moto and fresh Huawei flagship Xiaomi looks impressive.

For those who say that Mi Mix 2 has fat frames in the style of basement Chinese and even LG with V30 type, it was better in frameless, I quote the figures: 151.8 x 75.5 x 7.7 mm for Mix 2 vs. 151.7 x 75.4 x 7.4 mm for the V30. That is, a difference of 0.1 mm separates the "Chinese cellar" from top top-echelon devices? So understand such nabrosiki? The V30 and Mix 2 have the same screens. By the way, a special version of Mix 2 in the all-ceramic case is smaller than the usual version in height and width (150.5 x 74.6 x 7.7 mm). We will return to it a little later. But most importantly: Xiaomi does not position Mix 2 as a frameless phone. It's called Full Screen, that is, a full-screen smartphone.

Mix 2 can be perceived as working on Mix errors. The speaker is now normal, not piezoceramic, thanks to the 18: 9 screen and the reduced diagonal it's quite working, the weight has significantly reduced and the case has become much less slippery. We also worked on the camera. I would not say that there was a camera for the tick in Mix, but it was not a flagship level. Mix 2 uses a Sony sensor with enlarged pixels, a phase focus and 4-axis optical stabilization and all this is flavored with drivers, an image processing processor from Snapdragon 835. That is, in common with what the Meizu MX6 or Xiaomi Mi Max 2 had, except the sensor , no. Do not react so sharply to the familiar matrix. Think wider and deeper, the camera module is a very complex thing. After all, even Meizu Pro 6 Plus with a similar MX6 sensor shot quite differently, better!

So, the camera. I did not have Mix at hand, I could not compare them, but I'm 146% sure that Mix 2 shoots much steeper. Xiaomi claims that the camera here is flagship level, realizing that with the Mix Maleh screwed up. Those shots that I shot during the day are very, very good. The camera itself snaps quickly, autofocus does not fail, the color rendition is not overwritten. The dynamic range, it seemed to me, could be wider, but here in a number of scenes the inclusion of HDR helps. But with HDR, the phone is not instantly photographed and there is no HDR Auto, that is, it is necessary to turn on the hands, it is somehow out-of-date.

Another complaint concerns video settings. The default resolution is Full HD and it can be switched to 4K, but after you unload the camera from memory, 1080p will become the main one. An example of the video will be in the video preview, wait for the video. In general, yes, the camera is flagship here. Not better than iPhone or Samsung, but with a number of other brands can compete. After the camera mix it's really cool. In the full review I'll give examples in more difficult conditions and try to compare it with something. Well, for the time being, I'm more pleased with what I saw than not.

The front camera is a small resolution. The module itself became more compact than Mix had in order to make the lower chin by 12% less. I was worried that the photos would be very, very sad, but no. Many of the journalists noted that the frontline in Mix 2 is pretty good. Definitely not for a tick and an uncomfortable location will not drive you away from wanting to do selfies. Yes, to bang the guy you need to turn the phone upside down. Unlike Doogee Mix, whose review was released a few days ago , the Mix 2 interface responds well to these somersaults.

But back to the design. The phone has several versions - the usual one (it is in black with a ceramic backboard and an aluminum frame) and a special kind of uniobody ceramics (it can be white and black, the frame and back are a single whole, very complicated and long to manufacture, and therefore dear - about the price a little later). In all cases, the ring around the camera is covered with 18-carat gold. In the demonstration area was a completely ceramic apparatus in white, one for the whole crowd. And I'm sure that most people, breaking through to him, were disappointed. In a white phone boring and inexpressive, around the screen there is a small black frame, the inscriptions from the back are not visible, and even unibody-ceramics are very slippery. In general, I see no reason to overpay.

On hardware, it's hard to stop without benchmarks, I do not see any sense of autonomy and games, so I just give the key characteristics: Snapdragon 835, 6 GB of RAM (or 8 GB of RAM in whole ceramics), 64/128/256 GB of memory (only 128 GB in solid ceramic), a battery for 3400 mAh, Full HD +, NFC, fast charging, many-many supported ranges.

You probably want to know what goes in the kit? We are pleased to show the contents of the regular version on 6/256 GB. The box is black with golden letters, inside is neatly packed with reinforced charging, USB-C cable, smartphone, documentation, SIM ejection needle, adapter from 3.5 mm to USB-C and silicone case. With the first Mix there was a chic leather case, here an accessory is simpler. Cutout under the finger scanner is made more accurately, he slightly increases the size of the device. By the presence of an adapter, you guessed that there is nowhere to insert the audio jack. Sadly, I agree.

Pricing and Availability

Prices for Mix 2 start from 3,299 yuan, for a variant with 6/128 GB. While the  6/256 GB version will cost 3999 yuan. The whole ceramic piece will cost as much as 4699 yuan.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is not yet available in Most African countries ( Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya). When available, you can buy it at leading online stores in the country. Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Price in Nigeria is expected to range from 95,000 Naira to 180,000 Naira depending on your location in Nigeria.

How does Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 take pictures? Better than we expected (many photos)

The conceptual smartphone Xiaomi Mi Mix ( review ) was good in many things, but not in cameras. Distributing the budget for the filling and materials of the corps, engineers and marketers were a little greedy for photo and video shooting, as a result of which one of the most advanced devices of their time was given to non-cammic cameras. The company listened to criticism and presenting Mi Mix 2 stressed that it has a flagship camera.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2

What does this mean? The module includes a 12 megapixel sensor Sony IMX386 with a pixel size of 1.25 microns, a 4-axis optical stabilization system, a 5-lens optics with a f / 2.0 aperture, a two-tone flash, a phase autofocus, and algorithms, drivers and an image processor from Qualcomm (thanks to Snapdragon 835 chip). Many users, after learning about the IMX386 in Mix 2, rushed to put it on one level, not only with Mi Max 2, which has a more budget processor, and there is no stabilization, and even the aperture is different, but also with Meizu MX6, which is generally on MediaTek and from another team (to dig into hardware differences is even more meaningless than between Mix 2 and Max 2). Important: the sensor is only part of the camera module assembly, one detail, in itself, does not guarantee any result (positive or negative, remember the past flagship Sony Xperia). And that's how Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 takes pictures in different conditions.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 camera review

Criticism of Xiaomi for the camera of the original Mi Mix worked. The smartphone began to shoot better: it does it faster, more precisely, it is more correct. The dynamic range could be wider, but HDR helps in a number of situations. Also come to the rescue expo correction on tapu - do not ignore this function. The front camera is located on the lower right and made even less, but the disaster did not happen. Selfi are quite good for a smartphone, where they sacrificed everything they can to the full screen. To a detailed review, we will prepare a comparison with some smartphone, so that it would be more interesting for you. Any suggestions?

The Essential Phone Failed Drop Test (video)

Studying the "stress resistance" of Essential Smart Phone. The popular blogger JerrRigEverything, despite personal skepticism regarding drop tests, asked his subscribers whether they are interested in this side of the gadget. They responded positively, and now, armed with cameras of flagship smartphones, Zak went to check how the frameless smartphone made of titanium, ceramics and glass Gorilla Glass 5 copes with the falls.

The tests showed unexpected results. The glass that protects the device's display crashed already at the first fall from the height of the blogger's knee, and after a few more shots from different heights, and at all began to lose fragments, and the sensor went out of order. At the same time, the ceramic backdrop performs its task perfectly - no damage even after numerous falls from the height of the head. Also JerryRigEverything plans to remove the disassembly of the gadget, whichI was not at all impressed with iFixit . Recall, Essential Phone has already gone on sale in North America at a price of $ 700.

Samsung Report Success in Creating 11-nm and 7-nm chipsets

Segony Samsung has announced its readiness to begin production of chipsets with the technical process FinFET 11LPP (11 nm, Low Power Plus) already in the first half of next year. According to the Korean giant, these chips will be 15% more productive and 10% smaller than the 14-nm counterparts with the same power consumption. Unlike 10-nm chipsets, 11-nm processors will be aimed not at the flagship segment, but at medium- and medium-high-level smartphones. In addition, according to the schedule, the process technology of 7LPP (7 nm) is being developed using extreme ultraviolet lithography.

Since 2014, the company has produced 200,000 plates by this method and achieved 80% output for 256-megabit SRAM. The start of production of 7-nm chipsets from Samsung is scheduled for the second half of next year. Most likely, such a processor will become the basis of the Galaxy S10.

The Vice President Meizu talks on Meizu Blue Charm smartphone family

Vice President Meizu, responsible for the development of the family of low-cost smartphones Blue Charm (Meilan), talked about the future of this series. According to him, next year it will include not only the available models. Meilan plans to update the line of Meilan X with a frameless flagship, which will cost about 3,000 yuan (164 thousand nigeria naira). However, he says that while there is no solution to the problem of placing a front camera in a frameless smartphone, and to release a smartphone without it there is no sense.

In addition to Meilan X, there will be three more rulers in the Meizu family of conditional-budget families. This Meilan E, focused on youth and business class, the prices of these devices will exceed 1000 yuan (54000,00 naira). The main line will remain Meilan Note, the price of which the company will try to keep at the level of 1,000 yuan (54 thousand naira).

Finally, the fourth lineup will be "basic Blue Charm" like U10, M5c and M3S. How many models of smartphones Meilan plans to release in each of these lines is unknown. Most likely, the first three will be updated about once a year, and the fourth will be replenished somewhat more often.
